Storm Response
When the Storm Comes, We're Ready to Move
Coastal readiness isn't a service we bolted on — it's built into how we operate. Incident command training means clear communication, prioritized action, and calm decision-making when conditions get serious

📋

Pre-Storm Documentation

Before the storm hits, we document your property's condition — rooms, exterior walls, and systems. This timestamped record becomes your insurance baseline if there's damage.

🔍

Post-Storm Assessment

As soon as conditions safely allow and you give the word, we're at your property documenting conditions. Roof, siding, windows, interior, water intrusion, tree damage — all photographed and reported before anything gets worse or evidence disappears.

📞

Urgent Vendor Coordination

After a major storm, good contractors are booked within hours. Because we build relationships with local trades, our clients get connected quickly. We coordinate emergency tarps, water extraction, tree removal, and board-up while you're still watching the Weather Channel.

📄

Insurance Documentation

Your pre-storm and post-storm photo reports become your insurance claim evidence. Timestamped, organized, professional — exactly what adjusters need. No scrambling to remember what your property looked like before.

🛡

First Responder Background

When conditions get serious, training takes over. Structured communication, prioritized action, and calm decision-making — the same discipline we bring to every visit — even when conditions are anything but calm.

The 72-Hour Storm Activation
When a named storm enters our watch zone, here's what happens for our clients.
72h
Watch Zone Alert — you receive a briefing with the storm's projected track, your property's exposure zone, and our activation plan
48h
Pre-Storm Visit — generator fuel check and test run; outdoor furniture and loose items secured; pool equipment shut down; irrigation system off; smart home cameras confirmed operational; HVAC filter checked and system set; water main located and flagged; appliance checks for extended vacancy; hurricane shutters deployed where accessible; pre-storm photo documentation completed
24h
Final Securing — water main closed, water heater set to pilot, electronics unplugged, vehicles repositioned if applicable, final exterior photo
0h
Storm Event — we monitor conditions and maintain communication with you. No one enters properties during unsafe conditions.
+6h
Post-Storm Assessment — as soon as safe access is confirmed, we're on-site documenting conditions, checking for damage, and beginning emergency coordination
+24h
Full Report — complete post-storm documentation delivered to you with photos, damage assessment, vendor status, and recommended next steps

Common Questions
Do you guarantee storm protection?
No. Storm preparation services are designed to mitigate risk, but no preparation eliminates the possibility of weather-related damage. What we do guarantee is professional, documented preparation and rapid post-storm response — which significantly improves your insurance position and reduces the severity of secondary damage.
What does storm activation cost?
Storm readiness visits are billed separately from your monthly Home Watch fee. Pre-storm securing and post-storm assessment are billed at your service agreement rate. For active Home Watch clients, we prioritize your property and respond as quickly as conditions safely allow.
Do you enter properties during the storm?
Our on-demand response team has the experience, tools, and vehicles to respond in severe conditions. We follow all local emergency orders and road closures — but if roads are open and you need someone at your property, we can respond. On-demand storm response rates apply. Our first responder background means we know where to draw the line between urgency and safety.
I'm only here during summer. Do I still need coastal readiness?
Especially if you're not here during hurricane season. A vacant property during a Category 2 storm with no one to secure shutters, close the water main, or document pre-storm conditions is an insurance nightmare. We're the person who handles the details when you can't be there.
Will you work with my insurance adjuster?
Absolutely. Our pre-storm and post-storm photo documentation is specifically designed to support insurance claims. We provide timestamped reports, organized by area, that adjusters can use directly. We'll meet the adjuster on-site if needed.
Beyond the Property

Could Your Family Do 7 Days Without Power?

Florence knocked out power for 10 days in some parts of Wilmington. The coast isn't if — it's when. Property readiness is one thing. Family readiness is another. We help with both.

Generator Readiness
Is your generator fueled, tested, and transfer-switch ready? We check it quarterly so it starts when it matters — not the first time in 11 months.
🎒
Go-Bag & Supplies
Water, medications, documents, cash, pet supplies, phone chargers. Do you have 7 days of essentials staged and accessible? We'll help you build the list and check it annually.
🗺️
Evacuation Plan
Routes, rally points, what to take, when to leave. If your family's plan is "we'll figure it out" — that's not a plan. We help you build a real one.
